I am scaling down my business but remain incredibly active and in need of mental stimulation and something to fill time. Having run businesses with big websites and still selling a lot of vintage items on the Etsy platform, a blog on Lewes FC and the usual social media outlets I have decided to actually try and teach myself social media.
It is something that has always fascinated me and frustrated me in equal measure. Taking a real interest in something but not really understanding how it works has instilled a real curiosity in me.
I am realistic about this. What I have picked up over the years is that my content is good. I am also able to write 4 blogs in an hour due to the frenetic pace of my brain. I have the skill set to be good at it. The realism is that it is going to take two years to learn and for my content to gain the necessary authority to thrive. I may not be able to do it and may give up, all consumed by the complication of it all.
I have tried before but quarter-heartedly if that as I did not have the time. Now I have.
So, without further ado, this is what my current portfolio is.
A football blog, The Opposition. Had 7000 views but can go 9 months without writing anything.
A football twitter account 970 followers
A football facebook account 0 followers
An Instagram account with 202 followers appertaining to vintage things ’trendingvintageretro’
A youtube account from days of selling vintage furniture with over 100,000 clicks. Someone famous followed it once. This was just short appraisal videos of individual pieces of furniture.
Here goes. I will regularly update progress!
