Building My DIY Blog: Guess Who’s Back and Revitalized (Part 4)

If you’re one of the very select few who’ve been following my journey of building this blog, you’ll know one thing: it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. In fact, my last update was back on June 1st, 2024, where I boldly declared that I was starting a second blog. Spoiler alert—it didn’t go well.

Let’s be real: it was a disaster. The second blog barely gained any traction, and trying to link it to our new website was like attempting to herd cats—confusing, chaotic, and utterly unproductive. And speaking of the new website, let’s just say it hasn’t been winning awards either.

But here’s the twist—while the blog and website floundered, everything else took off! Sales on Etsy and Vinterior skyrocketed, and for the past eight months, we’ve been running around like headless chickens. Eloise even joined the business full-time, which is amazing, but instead of planning and strategizing, we’ve been firefighting. It’s been messy, frantic, and the ball? Yeah, I dropped it.

Cue the xmas holidays: a time for reflection, planning, and far too much alcohol. Over Christmas, we hit pause and got serious about organizing our chaos. We came up with a new business strategy, and I’ve now dedicated my afternoons (at least for this month) to focus on the business side of things. This includes revamping our website marketing, launching two shiny new vintage platform shops, and—most importantly—getting this blog back on track.

Which brings me to the exciting part: my blog is finally alive and kicking again!

The game-changer? AI. I’ve discovered it, embraced it, and let it revolutionize my blogging life. Now, I can dictate my blog posts, keep the content entirely mine, and let AI sort out the grammar, spelling, and general coherence. The result? Blogs that read better, take less time to write, and make me look like I actually know what I’m doing.

This newfound efficiency has been a huge boost for my enthusiasm. I can now churn out up to ten blogs a week without breaking a sweat! And just like that, I’m back to where I left off: averaging 2,000 views a month, practically on autopilot.

The next step? I’m roping in the person who built our website to give my blog a professional glow-up. I’ll share all the juicy details in my next post, so stay tuned for the transformation.

And just to prove my newfound mastery of AI, I’ve run this post through it, with one simple request: “Make it mildly amusing.” Voilà!

Stay with me—it’s only getting better from here.
